About
Xubuntu is a complete GNU/Linux based system with an Ubuntu base. It’s lighter, and more efficient than Ubuntu with GNOME or KDE, since it uses the Xfce Desktop environment, which makes it ideal for old or low-end machines, as well as thin-client networks.
Xubuntu is shipped with top quality packages from the Ubuntu archives. Xubuntu will use, as far as possible, GTK2 applications, ensuring maximum efficiency. If you wish, you can install any KDE or GNOME application on your Xubuntu desktop system, as it shares the Ubuntu main and universe package selection.
The Xubuntu community makes use of the Ubuntu Wiki, a collaborative environment where the community can edit all pages as needed. Important wiki pages are listed to your right.
I am not part of Xubuntu or Canonical; I am simply an Xubuntu user.

Hello,
This looks like a great resource for Xubuntu enthusiasts. Thanks! To show my gratitude, I have generated an improved version of your header, which I have provided in two formats. Let me know when you get them so I can remove them from my server.

Is this blog created by a fan of Xubuntu or by the people that create Xubuntu?

cpu MHz : 360.589

Do you think it is a good idea to upgrade to xubuntu 6.10?

Cool blog, and I learned a lot reading back through the archives. XFCE clears out all the distraction and overhead, and Xubuntu lets me piggyback off of all of Ubuntu’s documentation. Thank you!

Just want to say thank-you and well done for this blog!
I’m a new user of Xubuntu (in fact, Linux in general) and I’ve learnt a lot of things from your blog.
Keep up the good work
